The 2026 SWAAPM Annual Meeting brought the Southwest medical physics community together in Grapevine, Texas, from February 5–7 at Great Wolf Lodge.

Each year, the SWAAPM Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for medical physicists from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and learn about developments affecting clinical practice, research, education, and the profession. SWAAPM describes its annual meeting as a regional gathering of medical physicists and industry representatives centered on continuing education and advancement of clinical practice and research.

The 2026 meeting continued that tradition by bringing together members at different stages of their careers—from trainees and early-career physicists to experienced clinical physicists, educators, researchers, and chapter leaders.

Beyond the educational program, regional meetings provide something that can be harder to recreate virtually: time to reconnect with colleagues, meet physicists from other institutions, exchange practical ideas, and strengthen professional relationships across the Southwest.

Thank you to everyone who attended, presented, volunteered, exhibited, and helped make the 2026 meeting possible.

SWAAPM now looks ahead to its next annual meeting, scheduled for February 11–13, 2027, in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas.
